104 Services in AP

Andhra Pradesh is the fifth largest state in India by population. It faces a 28% shortage of Primary and Community Health Centres and a 28% shortage of specialists at public health facilities.

Despite these challenges, Andhra Pradesh performs well on key health indicators. The state’s total fertility rate is 1.8, maternal mortality ratio is 154 and infant mortality rate is 52.

All of these figures are below Indian national averages.

HMRI has run many programs in Andhra Pradesh:

104 Advice Health Information Helpline served 28 million callers through a 424 seat call center.

104 Mobile Mobile Health Services served 11.5 million people through a fleet of 475 mobile health units.

Telemedicine Services, including Asara©, have served 25,000 beneficiaries through 11 telehealth centers.
